The Graduate Program in Science and Technology/Chemistry (PPG-CTQ) requires all its students to provide proof of English proficiency, as established in the program regulations, available in Portuguese here (see Art. 40, on page 13 of the current regulations).

The procedure for requesting the inclusion of the proficiency requirement in the academic record is available on the UFABC PROPG website, accessible here.

In addition to the tests described in the PPG-CTQ regulations (namely TOEFL ITP, TOEFL iBT, TEAP, WAP, IELTS, Cambridge FCE, and Cambridge CAE), the following tests may also be accepted as proof of English proficiency, as determined by the CoPG-CTQ:

  • Duolingo English Test – according to the equivalences listed here;

  • British Council EnglishScore Test – according to the equivalence indicated on the certificate obtained (information available here).

For other tests, as provided in Art. 40, paragraph 2 (page 14) of the current regulations, the case must be analyzed by the CoPG-CTQ, provided that there is clear equivalence with the accepted proficiency tests.
