Qualification Committees
Students must enroll in the “Qualification Exam” (“Exame de Qualificação”) course during the semester they intend to take their qualification exam (please follow all deadlines according to the enrollment date). For information on requesting enrollment outside the regular enrollment period, click here.
The committee must be registered in SIGAA by the advisor at least 15 days in advance (prior approval by the program coordination is not required).
The qualification document in PDF format must be sent by the advisor or student to ppg.quimica@ufabc.edu.br. The committee will only be approved in the system by the coordination after receiving the PDF qualification.
Invitation letters are sent automatically to committee members after the committee is approved in the system.

Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline for qualifications was extended to up to 45 days before the defense for all students admitted before 2025.
Defense Committees
Defense committees must be approved by the program coordination in accordance with Ordinance 2431/2022:

Fill out the form available here using your institutional email;

Send the confirmation of completion to your advisor’s institutional email;

The advisor must forward the confirmation to the program coordination at ppg.quimica@ufabc.edu.br from their institutional email.
Note 1: Students must enroll in “Dissertation or Thesis Defense” during the semester they intend to defend (please follow all deadlines according to the enrollment date). For information on requesting enrollment outside the regular period, click here.
After approval of the committee by the coordination, it must be registered in SIGAA by the advisor at least 15 days in advance.
The dissertation or thesis in PDF format, including the acknowledgment to CAPES as required by CAPES Ordinance No. 206/2018 (https://propg.ufabc.edu.br/site/wp-content/uploads/Portaria_206_CAPES_DOU_04.09.18-cita%C3%A7%C3%A3o-da-Capes.pdf) and the science communication/dissemination element as defined in Ordinance 4357/2024, must be sent by the advisor or student to ppg.quimica@ufabc.edu.br. The committee will only be approved in the system after the dissertation or thesis PDF is received.

Note 2: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the defense deadline for all students admitted before 2025 was extended to the maximum allowed. Individual student deadlines can be viewed in the academic record available on SIGAA.
